José Sambursky, M.D., F.A.C.S. (Retired)

Dr. Sambursky continues to be a prominent figure in the treatment of cataracts, glaucoma and other eye diseases. He has maintained his practice at Ophthalmic Associates of the Southern Tier, P.C. for over 35 years.

Dr. Sambursky studied Basic Sciences and Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania, and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York, NY. He obtained and completed his Fellowship, sponsored by the NYS Research Foundation on Advanced Segment Surgery at the Barraquer Institute, Barcelona Spain.

Recently, Dr. Sambursky lectured on the latest treatments for Glaucoma to the medical residents and staff of the Miguel Couto Hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has lectured yearly as a visiting professor at the hospital for the past 29 years.

Dr. Sambursky is affiliated with United Health Services, Johnson City, NY and Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY. Dr. Sambursky is a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology.
